Full Bed Sheets – Knowing Exactly What to Look Out for and Why

Trying to find a great set of quality full bed sheets can sometimes be a hassle. There are so many sheet sets available a good question comes to mind, what exactly should one look for. I am no expert but I think it doesn’t take rocket science to understand while there are so many varieties of Full bed Sheets, Queen bed sheets and of course King bed sheets, the most practical place to start is with the question “who are you wanting the sheets for?”

The reason for starting from this point is merely because each of us has different comfort levels. Some people really enjoy soft silky sheets, although for the life of me I don’t know why, for me personally they are too slippery and I tend to slide right out of the bed.

Others seem to like flannel sheet sets. These are normally made of mostly cotton and wool and seem a little thicker. They are super cozy and tend to hold your body heat better. I really like the feel of these but it reminds me of flannel shirts and I have a few issues with thoses …lol.

Egyptian cotton sheets are extremely comfortable even at lower thread counts because this type of cotton sheet is very soft but not slippery mainly because Egyptian cotton fibers are longer and fluffier. They seem to be quite durable and most of this type of cotton comes from the Nile river valley area. These sheets are considered luxury bedding. These actually make a very nice gift for a house warming or wedding and even Christmas time.

Bamboo Bed sheets are a hot commodity as they are said to actually be anti- bacterial and environmentally friendly. Bamboo is actually from the grass family and that makes it reusable …. so they say. Well I guess it would be at least very plentiful and fast growing. The fibers are very soft and may people seem to like them a lot. They cost a little bit more but isn’t that the same with anything considered “green” and eco friendly…lol.

I guess I should explain a little about thread counts just in case anyone needs a little help.  If you go shopping for sheets you gonna have to consider what thread counts to buy but first you need to know what the heck they are. Thread count refers to how compact the treads are in a sheet, ok what does that mean? Well generally it means the more thread count then the softer the sheet and the more you will be charged for it.

Now here is my take on that, when you’re dealing with say, thicker fibers like flannel sheets and jersey type sheets or any kind of sheet set that people can wear the same material as a shirt I don’t really rely on thread count because these types I mentioned actually have a lower thread counts but since the threads are bigger they can be just as comfortable at lower thread levels. So to really sum it all up look at the material and just see what you think and pick out the full sheet set that appeals to you or whoever you are buying it for.
